I have made the decision to close the school today at 2:00 PM.

I’ve been informed that, due to large-scale protests across parts of Birmingham ahead of this evening’s Aston Villa vs. Maccabi Tel Aviv football match, the police will be enforcing Section 60 stop-and-search powers across the city. There will also be zone closures in place from 4:00 PM, which could significantly impact some bus routes and train stops.

I do not want any of our children to be caught up in this situation, so I’ve decided to send everyone home early.
