RSHE
Relationships, Sex and Health Education (RSHE) is a key part of our mission, which commits us to the education of the whole child (spiritual, physical, intellectual, moral, social, cultural and emotional). The purpose of RSHE is to support children and young people to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, health and relationships in order to live happy and fulfilling lives.
“I have come that you may have life, life to the full.”
John 10:10
RSHE is delivered through three inter-related ways:
- the whole school and ethos dimension,
- a cross-curricular dimension and,
- a specific relationships and sex curriculum.
We offer a balanced, fully inclusive RSHE curriculum within a Christian context, ensuring students have all the information they need to make discerning choices.
We subscribe to TenTen’s ‘Life to the Full’ programme, which aims to provide children and young people with a positive and prudent sexual education which is compatible with their physical, cognitive, psychological and spiritual maturity, rooted in a Catholic vision of education and the human person. An overview of the topics covered in each year group can be found here.
An online parent tool is also available to support parents and carers, keeping them informed about what is being taught in school and providing the opportunity to engage with their child(ren) in further discussion. It can be accessed using the log on details sent to your email address. If you need these details sending again, please contact reception@hagleyrc.worcs.sch.uk.
