Our Community

Parent, Teacher and Friends Association

“Friends of Hagley RC High School” was established following the successful fundraising year of 2004/5 when we helped the school to raise £50,000 towards achieving Specialist Status in Performing Arts. The intention of the Friends of Hagley was to build on this fantastic achievement, and provide both an opportunity for parents to meet and grow as a community, whilst also raising funds to support all the children in our school.

At the last meeting, we decided to rename "Friends of Hagley" to "Hagley Catholic High School PTA." We felt that this would be a more appropriate statement of the purpose of the group and would better reflect our desire to be professional and inclusive.

We can make a significant difference to the school community with the money we raise. In 2009 we raised over £15,000 towards the cost of a new minibus. The committee works closely with the school and greatly appreciate the assistance of Mrs S Tyrell.

We are also fortunate to have the support of the local circle of the Catenians, who often lend a willing hand at our events. Read more about the local circle at http://www.stourbridgecatenians.co.uk

In the Spring of 2013 Friends of Hagley School funded the purchase of a new sound system and new blinds for the school hall. Thank you to everyone who supported our events and enabled us to raise the funds to pay for this.

How to join

You are most welcome to come along to any of our meetings to see what we are all about and how you might support the school. You don't have to be on the Committee. Please come along and join us. It would be wonderful to see some new faces.

Membership of the PTA is open to all parents, staff, carers and sixth formers.

Toilet Refurbishment Project

The PTFA are working to raise money for a full extension and refurbishment of the main pupil toilets.
This will cost in the region of £75,000. The PTFA also assist departments with providing resources and experiences that they may not otherwise be able to afford.

Previous fundraising events include a summer fayre, school discos and an antiques valuation evening. There are lots of exciting events planned for the near future, including a sponsored walk, charity football match and quiz night.
