AUTUMN TERM BEFORE TRANSITION

Our Annual Open Morning in early October provides the chance for families to visit the school to see it in action, meet students and staff and to ask any questions they may have about secondary education. Our 2026 Annual Open morning will be held on Saturday 3rd October 2026 from 9am until 12.00pm. Bookings will be open via Eventbrite in mid September 2026. 

The deadline for applying for a place at any Secondary/High School in the United Kingdom is 31st October.

Pupils who are in schools that are part of the Emmaus Catholic Multi-Academy Company, or a named Feeder School, will be visited in their current school by Hagley Catholic High School Staff for an induction session.

SPRING TERM BEFORE TRANSITION

Places are allocated by your Local Authority on National Offer Day on the first Monday in March. Parents should follow the instructions issued by their Local Authority to accept their place. 

Pupils who have been allocated a place at Hagley Catholic High School will receive a Welcome Letter via email by early April. 

Pupils who are in schools that are part of the Emmaus Catholic Multi-Academy Company, or a named Feeder School, will be visited in their current school by Hagley Catholic High School Staff to support students to become 'secondary ready' in the Spring and Summer terms.

Hagley Catholic High School staff will contact all primary schools where pupils are joining from to ensure that we have all the information to support your child's transition.

SUMMER TERM BEFORE TRANSITION

Parents and carers of our new intake will receive key information relating to our Year 7 Induction Days, uniform ordering, transportation and other transition information by early April.

All new families are invited to Intake Information Evening in the Summer Term. This will be an opportunity to meet key staff, purchase school uniform and ask any questions about your child's transition to Hagley Catholic High School. The evening includes presentations by our Principal, Mr Hodgson and Head of Year 7 and Transition, Mrs Imrie. Our Assistant Principal: Inclusion and SENDCO, Ms Hackett and Assistant SENDCO, Mrs Hodgson will also be available if your child has any identified special educational needs. Intake Information Evening 2026/27 will be held on Monday 29th June 2026.

All new pupils will attend three Year 7 Induction Days in early July. For 2026/27 these will be held on Wednesday 1st, Thursday 2nd and Friday 3rd July 2026.

Ahead of the Year 7 main induction days there will also an Additional Transition Afternoon for individual students who are the only student coming from their primary school, or for those students identified by their primary schools as in need of additional transitional arrangements. Parent(s) and carer(s) of relevant students will receive confirmation from the school via email.

If your child has an Education and Health Care Plan (EHCP) and would benefit from alternative or supplementary transition, your Primary School should have contacted Ms N Hackett to arrange this (Assistant Principal: Inclusion and SENDCo). Ms Hackett will send out further information for students identified as having special educational needs separately
