Next Steps – Helping Year 12 prepare for life after Sixth Form, June 18th-20th and 22nd Print E-mail
Documents - Sixth Form
Written by Mr C Auliffe

Year 12 will be involved in a series of workshops and activities to help them to prepare for life after Sixth Form, from Monday June 18th until Wednesday June 20th. On the Monday, we have invited practitioners from Worcester and Birmingham universities to help students make informed choices about higher education. Students will also be able to research the variety of courses on offer at higher education institutions, as well as researching numerous apprenticeship opportunities. On the Tuesday and Wednesday, students will have the opportunity to start writing their UCAS personal statement, as well meet some of our past students who are now either at university or who are working.

All Year 12 students are expected to attend the Next Steps programme, even if they are not thinking about applying to university. Please note that Year 12 will be in normal lessons on Thursday June 21st.

In addition to the programme above, Year 12 students will attend Birmingham University Open Day on Friday, June 22nd. Students will be expected to make their own way to and from the University (see University website for transport details).  Students will register with members of staff at 9.45am at the University Clock Tower.  The day will finish at 2.30pm. Talks on a range of subjects will take place throughout the day.  Timetables for the talks will be available on the day, alternatively students can plan for the day by looking at the Open Day website:
