The department is committed to enabling pupils to engage in regular learning outside of the classroom.

Previous excursions have included A Level Literature visits to see A Streetcar Named Desire at the Manchester Royal Exchange Theatre and a GCSE trip to ‘Poetry Live’ in Birmingham.

Educational visits such as ‘English in Action: Love through the Ages’ and the Worcestershire Schools A Level English Language conference have enabled our students to engage in academic study and discussion with their peers and gain insight in to studying the subject at undergraduate level.

The department has also organised ‘in house’ extra-curricular opportunities such as visiting theatre group’s production of ‘A Christmas Carol’ to all of year 11, as well as poetry competitions and creative writing workshops.
