BUSINESS STUDIES

STRONG TEACHING, STRONG TEAM 100% PASS RATE, YEAR IN YEAR OUT.

WHAT YOU STUDY

Have you ever wondered how you can be like Blackberry, number one mobile phone handset seller in America with 43% market share in 2010 then gone out of business three years later? Or Aldi going from nothing to the biggest sales growth supermarket in the space of five years in Britain. Where does the money come from? What the possibilities are and what factors play most on the minds of decision makers is what we attempt to discover.

HOW YOU STUDY

You will be expected to engage comprehensively in lessons. You will be expected to think! You will ask questions and question the answers. You will experience a wealth of information in a variety of formats. You will work and learn both individually and in groups.

DEPARTMENT STRENGTHS AND RESOURCES

Strong teaching; 100% pass rate, year in year out.

PROGRESSION TO UNIVERSITY

There cannot be an Educational Institution in the land which does not offer degree courses in either, ‘pure’ business studies or specialist offshoots like Accounting, Management, and Marketing etc.

OUR SUCCESSES

Since 1998 all candidates bar one have passed the exam. Given the mixed nature of groups from all disciplines, many starting Business Studies are totally new at A-level, this is nothing short of miraculous. Previous students who have done well or who have gone on to study this subject at university are: Niall Cullen, Dominic Reilly, Luke Matthews, Claire Ling, Hazel Burke, Faye Doherty, Mollie North, Helen Pearson.

GCSE ENTRANCE REQUIREMENTS

There is simply no substitute for enthusiasm.

Each year a significant proportion of A-level Business students have not studied the subject at GCSE. This is no disadvantage to them as long as they are enthusiastic to engage, focus, learn and progress.
